Dead roses

Okay guys, so I cleared the first round of the poetry contest, and I've submitted the entry for the second round, the topic for which is 'Flowers'.

I know we usually think of flowers as happy and lively. So I thought of taking another direction...attempted to explore if flowers can also signify death and endings. This was the result...

They lay there, tired, downtrodden

Bitter roses which
Once woke up to misty mornings and
Admiring faces,
Now on a dark grave
Under a lone cracked moon.
Mere trimmings for life's dirge...

Tell me what you think? :)
